The method i came up with before viewing this was to open the door a little bit and closed the door everytime he tried to get out, once he stopped trying to go through i opened it the whole way went through the threshold the told him to come It worked alright but he doesnt go through unless i go through first even when i tell him, but only took 2-3 times before he started doing it consistantly
So I've got a question. It is kinda related to this. My dog sit and waits at the door and doesn't rocket out until I release her stay. My problem is that she takes off at full force, even when there is wall 4 ft in front of her and she sends anything near the door flying. Do you have any suggestions for that?
Your videos make me miss having a dog. When i was a kid i had an English Shepard, and i trained her all the basics, but never knew how to really get specific behavior. It was fine because she was the best behaved girl anyway.
Maybe I'll get a dog next year. If i do, I'll definitely be watching your videos for tips
After presenting the bone distraction it would have been funny to open the door a third time and have a CGI clip of something horrifying on the other side with the dog in the foreground looking totally uninterested.
“Keep your feet planted and do not let them” i mean sounds good in theory but im 4’11 how do you not just get dragged like a loonytoons character with a big dog when your small
This is the way, because i swear the last video i watched showing how to fix this behavior, the guy slammed the dogs head in the door and was like "now he wont rush out"…
You are a great trainer, thank you for sharing these tutorials with others. I am very happy to have found your channel, and of course I have German Shepherds that I have to work with a lot, but your tutorials have made it easier for me.🌹🌹
I just drilled a sit-stay with my dog at the door. If she goes through the door without my go ahead, she gets shut in the door. Didn’t take long for her to realize that she isn’t allowed to dart out
I have 4 bigger dogs that stay outside and race out of their pens as soon as the grate opens, this will be useful for helping make sure I don't step on a captus when taking them out of their pens
Any tips for training my dog to let me cut her nails? I've been trying to go slowly and rewarding her for letting me touch her feet but i can't even bring the tool near without her running off. I was gonna ease her into just having the tool near her feet but she just runs away.
I don't want to hold her down and do it cause i think it'll just make her even more afraid of it and I'm trying to accomplish the opposite
Look, I get your teachings and what not and you seem like a good guy and trainer, but that dog and most of the other dogs in the world know that it is a big space and are confined to this box all day unless someone takes them out, at which point they’re movement is still limited. I get that the dog wanting to get out badly is an inconvenience, but where do we draw the line at just basic ownership decency? I lock my dog all day, the least I can do is accept he’s gonna be excited to come out no? Or are we collectively deciding to just forget that these bastards usually are meant to burn more energy then us poor humans 😂
I have 2 problems with my dog's training, i can spend a lot of time training her, but since i am not the only one walking her daily, she just doesn't listen the other time i try, so we are back at square one.. and as soon as i lock the door after me, she starts to pull again like i trained her to do nothing

Yea I tried to keep my feet planted but got dragged by my 178 lb mastif
Do you always step outside first when you walk out the door? I find it sometimes difficult with the two of them.
Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
Yo 8 min ago
I really needed this for my silly boy. He also rushes and pulls me everywhere outside, sometimes I fall or bump into trees or sum. What do I do?
While this works, I feel like you're very obviously excluding 80lb women with 100lb dogs.
Can you give the training but for cats?
Gonna be pretty hard when I’m a light ass mf and my dog is named “tiny” tina

Even easier: do not have a freakin' dog.
