I still don’t understand how to put on the slip lead☹️ just got one for my little guy yesterday and haven’t found any helpful videos yet on how to do it :/
Please be more responsible with your videos, a slip leash should not be positioned so low. If people use them like that, it can cause severe laryngeal damage, tracheal collapse and more.
Most dogs know how to walk on a leash it what’s being communicated and by who. As a dog trainer too, most of the time people are just as confused as the dog and neither of them are understanding what they want from each other. In the studio I work at the dogs behave well but as soon as they are home they are a different dog
No…there's no way he just magically stopped pulling just because you put a different collar and leash on him….no way. I don't believe it. There's more to it than that.
I do a drop in visit for my friends 5 month old golden. I have MS so can’t walk far but if I’m feeling good I’ll bring him for a short walk. AS soon as he puts any tension on the Leash , I stop walking and then he will stop and I’ll continue. If a car comes I will stand in front of him and tell him to sit. I don’t continue until he sits. He is doing so well and we both get some exercise. I don’t feel nervous to walk him as he is a big boy and I’m a petite lady.
Yea but trying this for 3 weeks with my border collie and he doesn't give a toss if pulling gets him closer or not. He'll do it anyway. Teaching him a command hasn't helped either because if it's any sort of distraction he'll just decide that whatever command or treat I try to convince him with is worth less than chasing the car or the sheep or whatever it may be.
So many dogs in halters hauling their owners, it's embarrassing at this point with how many free videos are put there showing pple the fallacy of this, yet it's rampant anywhere I go with dogs. Tells me a lot about the pple behind the dog without even a word.
I'm a retired k9 officer. First get the harness of the dog. A harness is made for pulling. I'm not going into it all here on how to train a dog to walk on leash. Look up a guy named , Thomas Davis, The American Canine Educator he is great for teaching dog control. Also look up k9-1 for basic obedience. They have a video call Leash Ninja. It is a must watch for anyone walking or working with dogs.
That dude also needs to not be on a harness many dog trainers including the original Dog Whisperer Caesar Milan has said those make pulling worse it’s like getting in between a guy that doesn’t actually want to fight and he’s like hold me back just a regular collar is good

Short video told me absolutely nothing.

I need help with my dog. She’s 6 months Belgian Malinois mix.
Best video I’ve seen so far, my dog is like the one in the video but he’s got better with this trying
That harness is the reason why he's pulling. It is designed for it. Are people stupid?

Do you have to keep using a slip leash once the dog is leash trained?
Bullshit, just yank the chain hard enough to break its neck. It will learn in 5 mins
I’ve been tryna train my dog like this for 5 months straight he’ll rather choke his self to death then walk next to me. He’s to stubborn
I need your help! My youngest is killing my arms, hands and wrists with her pulling 🥵😓😮💨🤕🤧
It helped thanks 🙏

Does this technique require that specific leash? Can't it work on a regular leash? If so, why? Because the slip leash hurts the dog?
🤝🏾
You haven't met my French masstiff Butters lol 😢
