Have to add my voice to people saying they're not "low maintenance". I give mine veggies twice a day, pellets daily, hay throughout the day, sweep their cage, semi daily lap and treat time, wash their bedding, periodically deep clean the cage, trim their claws, keep an eye out for health problems cause they'll hide them, crafted my own box to put their hay in, and devoted half my room to be their space. And that's without considering all the extra stuff you would need to do if you let them free roam occasionally (i would like to but i have cats and a dog to worry about currently) and time I've put in to learning about them. I get sad every time i think about people adopting "pocket pets" cause they think they'll be easy or low effort.
