I have an 8 mo old Aussie mix thatβs anxious, wonβt pay attention, and doesnβt give a crap about training. She wants to bite, play, and get to the training treats. If I move my hand she tries to get the food out of it. Even if my hands empty. I get so frustrated I want to pull my hair out. I just give up and sheβs running the house. Iβm at my whits end.
I laughed at this because my dog full well understands the commands heβs just a prick and doesnβt care. Heβs a sweet dog just doesnβt care to listen. But you have to get his attention and get him to focus then he will obey.
I donβt know if mine ignores me or heβs just too focused on whatever has his attention. Heβs high energy and he doesnβt disobey when itβs just me and the misses but when people come around he just gets too amped up to the point he doesnβt listen. Is there a way to calm him down? Iβve tried multiple things but I think itβs just a personality thing. It worries me though cause heβll jump on children trying to play.
Thanks miles, my big boy is so much better now thanks to all the in class lectures on your videos. This obligations thing was the missing piece in the previous inconsistency in following commands. After teaching my dog obligations, he's a whole new dog. He's more focused and more compliant, less pissing around on his terms. Your videos are so invaluable in my trainings.
Don't forget: dogs can't verbally say "I can't", "I'm injured", "I'm scared", or "I will, but look out behind you first, stupid!" π So watch out for them, and pay attention. It's not just about enforcing obedience.
My dog knows and thinks itβs funny π to disobey me sometimes. So I need to regain some respect and I have to start giving him $100 fines for bad behavior and start over again in more controlled environments. My sister says it means heβs really smart but whatever. I think dogs are pretty simple.

My shih tzu KNOWS exactly π― what come home means. He waits until i yell get your ass in the house π he wont even flinch when i call his name to come inside when he is not ready. I even have a samsung 2 tag on him. He will come 90 percent of the time when he hears the song… buuuutttt ooof that 10 percent gets us in a yelling match. His sassy butt grumbles and snorts and wont even walk near me or look at me π brat
