The more good videos I watch, the clearer it is to me that good puppy training is 90% body language, nonverbal communication, and operant conditioning. Verbal cues are just to build connections over time, and the puppy still does not speak your language. "No" has to be met with an unwanted consequence, and "yes" with a clear benefit.
My puppy turned 5monthe old but she’s aggressive with everything 😢, the treat thing barely works because she just looks and jumps and then when it’s time to put her in the cage for a bit she gets aggressive
Ive taught my new 3 month old toy poodle to sit and stay untill the food goes down on the floor without a leash and a collar it IS doable! You just got to be patient and firm by not letting them have said food untill the moment they are sitting still and waiting for command to "okay go"
My poodle is VERY agressive with food and will keep jumping for it its very trainable
why are you limiting the access to water like that? was the dog rebellious or something? I think dogs should have free access to water at all times, these excercises can be done with food instead and you get the same results without torturing the dog.
I taught mine “back up” and they back up and sit down to wait for me to set their food and water down. I only release them if they look at me and will wait until they do. So important for you to set boundaries and train them when they are this age! My GSD is very pushy so I have to get on him more even at 8 years old
I have a 2 year old belgian malinois and there is struggling during feeding time. Will this work on her? I only get her to sit for a couple of seconds and her focus doesn't stay at me most of the time – majority would be the food bowl.
Honestly it is so easy too (I'll m sure some more stoburn breeds take extra time). My dogs will wait for food, doors, etc. majorly important to prevent door bolting too

Stepping on the leash like that is also a great way to train a puppy or dog of any age that is in need of training. It teaches not to jump up or pull ect. It's "clear" communication which will make any dog more obidient, calm and focused. The most effective is when paired with a prong collar. Stepping on the leash while greeting others for example, this will work through self-correction everytime she tries to jump up. The proper tools are key to training, and the best thing to have is a prong collar with the "proper fit", "prong guage size" and most importantly "how to use it"!. Teaching them using light pressure (dead ring) and how to turn it off. Starting out for the first week I allow my dog to get used to the feel without the collar "engaged" attached to the dead ring. When the collar is engaged it allows you to "pop" the collar to give correction. This gives the dog 360° degrees of "pressure" not PAIN to correct a dogs unwanted behavior ONLY. Using it gently as to say 'hey, wait up buddy' not yanking it harshly in frustration. That will only scare the dog in a negative way and thats not what it is intended for. It's to be used as a "positive" training tool NEVER punishment. Rewarding them when teaching them using pressure, no pressure equals = reward. I could talk all day lol, but it would better and easier to search for yourself. Try "how to properly use a prong collar." There are too many myths and lies created around the use of prong collars, which is why so many people struggle with training, especially with medium to large muscular working breeds. Ps. I'd suggest buying only Herm Sprenger prong collars as they are tested and true. I do not have any affiliation with Herm sprenger and only recommend based on my experience. I hope this helps even just 1 person understand and see the positivity through the use of a prong collar. I own a 7 month old female American Bully crossed with Pitty and American Bulldog 🐶🤗. I can truly say after using everything under the sun for training her the prong collar 3.0 has been and absolute best game changer! People in my neighborhood have been complimenting and asking me how I trained her so well and how responsive and engaged she is with little to no correction. I admit before I used the prong collar and the correct way to train and use it, she was all over the place on walks until her energy came down and infinite corrections that had little effect. Not only is she well trained, she is happier for it and gets excited to put it on for a walk! The proof is real, don't let anyone tell you prong collars are harmful or cruel 🤦🏻🚫🧠 (when used properly) like anything. Cheers! ✌️🐶🐾

Maybe do this training with a bowl of food or a treat. Seems a bit cruel with water and a panting dog who’s outdoors.
